Just had to add this picture. Ethan is growing up so fast. I'm so sad. He starts kindergarten next month. He's big. He's getting tall. He is nearly up to my armpits. How does a 5 year old reach that height? My boy.....so big. Oh, but he's cute. Unfortunately summer hasn't been as much fun for him. We are still living in my parent's basement and there aren't really any kids in the neighborhood. There's a boy next door who is 8 who will come play with him. To see if this boy is home, Ethan goes to the backyard to the fence. There's a hole in the fence and Ethan goes to the hole and calls the boy's name. If the boy hears him, he comes out and they'll talk for a while through the fence. If the boy isn't there or doesn't hear him, their dog will bark frantically and the boy hears the dog and comes out. Interesting way to communicate. That helps alleviate some of the summer boredom and loneliness, but I kind of wish we were still in South Weber in our little cul-de-sac with the brat pack. He used to run with about 5 boys in our cul-de-sac everyday all day while living there. Now, he's feeling cooped up and it makes him restless. A restless 5 year old boy who has a 1 year old little sister......not a good combination. I can't wait to get into our house!

My baby is finally walking!! Yeeeaaaahhhh! I am so excited. I know everyone thinks I should be dreading this because now she can get around and I'll have to always watch her and so on, but she was already crawling and crawling FAST. I already had to watch her like a hawk and run to keep up with her. The difference now, is that she won't get so dirty. Her hands and knees were always dirty. Her pants, some I can't get the dirt out of her knees. Now, her being something like 26 lbs., I can put her down and have her walk around rather than carry her. I'm free! Or rather, my back--it's saved! She's so cute. She loves to just walk around the house carrying something. In one room, out and then to another room and out. Back to you, show you what she's carrying and back to walk some more. So cute.

Look what we did 4th of July weekend. I shot this rifle thingy that was sort of automatic and had something on the end that made it heavy and the shots sound like silent pops. It was pretty fun. Did I hit any of my targets? Noooooo. Well, actually, I've been told that I did hit my targets a couple times, I just don't think I meant to. Anyway, it was fun. Ethan loved it. He shot a 9 mil handgun (I think it's a 9 mil) and a 22 something rifle. Sheesh, listen to me. I don't know what I'm talking about. I also got to try a shotgun. I only tried it once. A severely bruised shoulder is all I need. Now Darren and Ethan want to add rifles, shotguns, handguns to our list of goodies to get.

Oh Al, I'm so sorry, but at least I feel better about not being the only one that gets inundated with requests to have an arsenal in her house. I love that picture of Ethan with the 22 rifle. Mack keeps looking at it and chuckling.
