Maeve, one week old
Well, everyone, Maeve is now one week old. She is still in NICU at Primary Children's Hospital, but she is doing well. Yesterday they tried putting her in a car seat twice, but had to take her out both times because her oxygen levels got too low. She needs to be able to sit in a car seat before they'll be sending her home. I just talked to Darren on the phone (he's down with Maeve today) and Darren said that this afternoon, she sat in her car seat just fine. So, she passed. Still, I'm nervous. Darren also said that at her last feeding, she ate the amount she is supposed eat. So, things are improving and she should be home in a couple days. Every day there is a little progress. I spent the day with her yesterday and she had many awake, alert moments. Her eyes are big and beautiful and she seems interested in her surroundings, looking around. I will confess, I'm scared silly to bring her home. I worry that something will go wrong. So, if any knows someone who knows someone who knows someone who had the same issues with their baby, bring on the advice. I'd love to hear the experiences of others. Thanks to all for your help and support.
