Well friends, a couple months have passed and several things have happened. First, Ethan turned 5!! We're so excited. He had his first friend birthday party. It was a pumpkin theme. We played some pumpkin games and decorated pumpkins and beat the doozers out of a pumpkin pinata.

Then it was time for cake and ice cream. And what kind of cake did Ethan want this year? A
B-1 Bomber cake. Nope, I wasn't going to even attempt that one. I went to my local grocer and they did it for me. Turned out quite nice.

October was also the month for Halloween. Ethan decided to be Jack Sparrow (the pirate) and Maeve was a little leopard. It was her first Halloween.

For Halloween we all went to Ouma's work for a little carnival and lots of candy. Then we went trunk or treating for too much more candy. That night, Ethan decided that instead of keeping the candy this year, he was going to leave the candy for the Candy Fairy. He put his candy by his bed that night and the next morning he woke up to a Transformer Bomber plane thingy. Ethan was most excited. Well worth giving up 20 lbs. of candy. I certainly think so too.
November so far has been the usual. Preschool, karate (Ethan got his green belt --mind you this is Tiny Tigers in karate--, etc. We just had our court date for Maeve's adoption this last Monday. Maeve is legally our daughter now. We now have physical and legal custody of her. I'll put in the picture of us with the judge. It wasn't really that grand a moment. I sort of felt like it was some motions we had to go through but in my mind, Maeve was done deal a long time ago. Anyway, it was a major thing for our family.
