Everyone, this is Maeve. She was born today, April 25th at 3:45 p.m. She weighed 7lbs. 3 ozs. and is 19 inches long. She's perfectly healthy and is doing fantastic. Her birthmom, Kim, is doing well also. Kim did a great job with the delivery. It was fairly quick, just a couple pushes. I was able to watch her birth. Not many adoptive parents get that opportunity and I'm thrilled that Kim invited me to be a part of it. I also got to cut the umbilical cord and watch everything. Darren wasn't able to watch everything, but we both were able to take her to the nursery and watch the nurse give her a bath. Darren gave her first bottle. It was really sweet and it's been a great day. Kind of stressful......I didn't know what to anticipate with a delivery and watching Maeve being born. Right now, the plan is to bring Maeve home from the hospital on Sunday morning. Maybe I'll have more pictures then. Ethan is thrilled with little Maeve. He loved his little visit with her. He was kissing her nose, her eyes, and touching her face and feeling her cheeks and her head. My mom and Darren's mom came and held her too, ooohing and aaaahing back and forth. My dad is Maeve's pediatrician and has been taking care of her. In the pictures, she was crying a bit. She just likes it when people don't poke and prod her, when she's left to sleep. Well, enough for now. Just wanted some photos out for people to see.

Man I am such a baby! I'm sitting here reading this post and my eyes are a little watery I must admit. I blame it on all the women in the family. (You know how they are!) She is beautiful and I am so excited and happy for you guys. Hang in there and good luck in the next few days! Congrats!
